The desert, though unbearably hot at times, is one of my all-time favorite places to be. The cactuses. The dinosaurs (if you’ve driven from LA to Palm Springs, you know exactly what I’m talking about). The rainbow sunsets. All of it brings me so much joy.
Nick, Elise, her husband Tysen and brother Conrad, and our friend Linsey ventured to Palm Springs last weekend for the 4th of July. It was an impromptu decision made earlier in the day, but I’m so glad we did it. We got there really late, took a late night swim, and crashed. The morning after we arrived, the girls decided to leave the boys at the pool and we went on a drive into the open land to take some pictures.
I half-expected Mad Max to come driving over the mountains with Furiosa in the middle of our shoot. I also kind of wanted that to happen….but sadly, it didn’t. Luckily the watercolor painting-esque backdrop made up for that.
May you all explore a beautiful desert much sooner than later.
For now I must be going. Talk soon, friends!
Kate
