Eclectic Apothecary Style

You know those houses you see on Pinterest and think, “but no one actually lives in places that cool.”? Well, my friends Peter and Kate do.

They bought an old house in Portland a few years ago and flipped it. I’ve seen the before pictures and the difference is amazing. I was even more amazed to see how they revamped it in person. The style is cozy, with lots of plants, pinned moths and butterflies, and jars filled with wonderful knickknacks. The room Nick and I stayed in this past weekend was my favorite, with high wooden ceilings, giant terrariums and delicate gold lamps.

As though the house itself isn’t beautiful enough, Peter and Kate are some of the most wonderful humans I know. Nick and I met them at our friend Mary and JP’s wedding last August and knew after three days of hanging out that we’d be friends for a long time. They’re wise beyond their years and have a love that’s out-of-control (so so crazy about each other after seven years). They balance each other out perfectly.

The pictures below are a mixture of their home, them, and a short Saturday adventure we took around Portland.

For now I must be going. Talk soon, friends.
