This might be the stupidest blog post name I’ve ever come up with, but it’s the holiday season and I’m all sorts of sappy over here, so we’re sticking with it.
A few weeks ago, my dear friend Lottie made another dear friend, Elise, and I a delicious Chocolate Caramel Ganache Tart. It basically tasted like a grown-up candy bar, with the perfect sprinkle of sea salt on top and crunchy graham cracker crust.
As we ate together on her patio, I couldn’t help but feel like I’d transported back in time to another decade… you know, where you’d just gab with your friends for a few hours in the middle of the afternoon over dessert and coffee or tea? That’s how I picture it being in the 1950s, anyway.
I’m feeling especially thankful this holiday season for good friendships. The older I get, the more rare I realize it is to have true, deep, meaningful friendships. I’ve been blessed to have real friends in every season of life, but this season in particular (watching two of my best friends get married within a month of each other, reconnecting with old friends, and meeting a few new folks that I already know will be in my life for quite some time to come) feels especially sweet.
For now I must be going.
Talk soon, friends!
p.s. That adorable pint-sized dog is Glasgow. CUTEST.
